      Death of Mrs. Emily Stein

      The death of Mrs Emily Stein occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bakes, southwest of here Monday (Oct 31st) , after a illness lasting some time, aged 65 years, 1 month and 23 days.

      The funeral occurred at the German Evangelical Church in this city Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Doellerfeld conducting the same and the remains were interred in the city cemetery.

      Deceased was the widow of the late William Stein and at one time resided in the southwestern part of this city. She was born in Hoyelton Township, Washington County, September 8, 1850. There survive her four children, 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two sisters. We join in extending sympathy to the bereaved in their sadness.

      Note: William and Emily Stein are buried in the old Carlyle Cemetery near the Turner vault.
